TX2K26 Crowns Champions at Texas Motorplex

ENGINE BUILDERS — The annual TX2K racing event returned to the Texas Motorplex March 17–22, drawing thousands of racers, teams and fans for one of the most anticipated gatherings in modern street-car motorsports. Now in its 26th running, TX2K once again delivered a week of intense competition, record-setting runs and championship battles across both drag racing and roll racing divisions.

Often referred to as the “Super Bowl of street car racing,” TX2K has grown from a small gathering of Toyota Supra enthusiasts in 2000 into a global showcase for the fastest street-legal cars on the planet. Today, the event attracts professional tuners, manufacturers and drivers competing in dozens of classes, with many vehicles producing well over 2,000 horsepower.

New records were set and new champions were crowned…

Brett LaSala continued his winning ways with a record-setting 5.87 at 242 mph pass claiming victory in the 2JZ vs. the World class in his Coyote-powered Mustang.

Jim Braun won the Street Car class (Elite) with a 6.59 ET in his 2012 Ford.
