MUSTANG FORUMS—Seven-second pony makes nearly 2,000 crank horsepower and uses a lot more stock parts than you think.
There’s something crazy-satisfying about watching the front end of a Mustang reach for the sky at a drag strip. It’s even more exciting when the car looks like it’s ready to go to the grocery store. Brett Lasala‘s Mustang, dubbed “Snot Rocket,” is about as “streetcar” as a seven-second drag build can get. It still has all the factory body panels, air conditioning, powered windows, all factory glass, a factory 8.8 rear end housing, and the stock interior (aside from the Recaro seats). The racing weight of 3,500 pounds did not stop this monster from ripping down the Texas2K strip in 7.33 seconds at 187 mph.
